The First Step Can Carry the Weight of the Whole Future
A small action may feel far larger than it is because your mind connects it with everything that might follow.
Beginning may seem to mean commitment, visibility, responsibility or the possibility of failure.
The step becomes symbolic rather than simply practical.
What Does Beginning Make Real?
It may make your desire visible. It may create hope. It may mean choosing yourself or disappointing someone.
It may also expose uncertainty you could avoid while only thinking.
Naming what becomes real can reduce the mystery around the threshold.
Is the First Step Actually One Step?
Sometimes the ‘first step’ contains several hidden decisions, tasks or commitments.
Break it down until the action can be completed without deciding the whole future.
